Somos Um pela Democracia was created as a non-partisan movement to unite and mobilize pastoral leaders from various Evangelical denominations in support of democracy and its core values. To facilitate dialogue and collaboration, we created several tactical initiatives, including a social mobilization campaign via the “Open Letter from Evangelicals for Democracy,” regional outreach, “Prayer for Democracy” meetings, and a Consultation and Monitoring Group for Evangelical women.
Our central premise is that to counter authoritarian and anti-rights narratives among Evangelicals, it is essential to empower alternative narratives that originate within these communities themselves.
