About Us

About us

We are a civil society organization dedicated to strengthening democracy and advancing climate justice in Brazil. We achieve this by engaging Christians through strategic campaigns and communications.
Our mission is to build sustainable and inclusive communities by developing creative and innovated initiatives that reinforce the Christian democratic and social-environmental agenda.

Why We Engage with Christians?

As a non-religious organization, we strategically partner with Catholics and Evangelicals because we recognize the profound influence of the Christian faith on the values and decisions of millions of Brazilians. With over 80% of the population identifying as Christian, this community is one of the most powerful forces in both the public and private sectors.

Christianity has historically shaped the world’s social and political landscape. It can either promote democratic, sustainable solutions or support reactionary, rights-violating agendas.

In a rapidly changing Brazil, we believe it is crucial to acknowledge the diversity within Christian circles and broaden their positive participation in public discourse. Engaging with this community is not just a challenge—it is an opportunity to build bridges and create concrete solutions for a more democratic country where social, environmental, and climate justice can thrive.

To that end, Casa Galileia develops communication strategies and campaigns to better connect faith with society. We support mobilization networks and strengthen alliances among different sectors of civil society, public authorities, and other key partners.

Our areas of expertise

Democracy

We partner with Christian leaders, communities, and organizations to promote their active participation in strengthening democracy. Our work focuses on combating reactionary narratives and agendas that spread hate and threaten fundamental rights, helping to build a more just and diverse society.

Climate Justice

We align Christian spiritual values with the mobilization potential of both Catholic and Evangelical communities. By engaging them in advocacy and public engagement, we help develop effective policies to address socio-environmental challenges and the climate crisis.

What we do

Campaigns

We create and manage campaigns that engage Catholics and Evangelicals in democratic and socio-environmental efforts. Our campaigns are grounded in evidence, informed by qualitative and quantitative data, and shaped through ongoing dialogue with religious and civil society groups. This approach helps us identify key opportunities to drive social and political change.

Consultancy

We provide strategic communication and mobilization tactics for organizations that work with or want to engage Christian communities. We help them promote democratic and socio-environmental values, focusing on innovative and creative ways to build dialogue.

Movement Building

We mobilize and collaborate to strengthen the Christian democratic movement. Our goal is to promote, empower, and build movements that emerge from collective action and dialogue to counter Christian reactionary forces that seek to erode civil, social, and environmental rights.

Monitoring and Qualitative Analysis

We monitor and analyze narratives within Christian communities to inform our role in the public debate. By studying Christian and Evangelical ecosystems, we produce analysis and reports that provide strategic insights for these communities. Understanding Christian narratives, practices, and public participation is crucial for us to strategically qualify the debate on Christian diversity and its impact on society.
